About us

Colin Klein is a Professor in the School of Philosophy at the Australian National University. He works on philosophy of mind, philosophy of cognitive neuroscience, and social epistemology. He is especially interested in the application of computational techniques to traditional problems in epistemology.

Marc Cheong is a Senior Lecturer - Information Systems (Digital Ethics) and Senior Fellow (Melbourne Law School) at the University of Melbourne. He is interested in the intersection of technology and philosophy. He is especially interested in the interdisciplinary analysis of contemporary social media from an existentialist lens, and ethical issues concerning modern-day use and deployment of technology.

Marinus Ferreira is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Philosophy at Macquarie University. He works on ethics, social philosophy, and the philosophy of action. He is especially interested in large-scale social action and decision-making,  how individuals fit into it, and how they are affected by information technologies like social media and artificial intelligence.

Mark Alfano works in philosophy (epistemology, moral psychology), social science (personality & social psychology), and philosophy of technology (epistemology and ethics of algorithms, natural language processing & generation). He also brings digital humanities methods to bear on both contemporary problems and the history of philosophy (especially Nietzsche)

Ehsan Abedin is a Postdoctoral research fellow in the department of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Melbourne, where he recieved his PhD in 2022. His background is in data science and social media analysis, and he’s is interested in combining data science techniques and information systems theories to answer real questions in today's world.

Ritsaart Reimann is currently completing his Doctorate at Macquarie University. He’s primarily interested the epistemic dynamics and implications of digital information spaces, with an emphasis on the downstream consequences of misplaced trust. He is also part of the Theory and Methods in Biosciences team at the University of Sydney.
